NJEA Announces Nine Congressional Approvals


The NJEA announced its endorsement of nine congressional candidates, all of whom were previously endorsed by the union and have demonstrated a commitment to students, public education and working families.

These candidates are:

CD 1 – Donald Norcross

CD 3 – Andy Kim

CD 5 – Josh Gottheimer

CD 6 – Frank Pallone

CD 7 – Tom Malinowski

CD 9 – Bill Pascrell

CD 10 – Donald Payne, Jr.

CD 11 – Mikie Sherril

CD 12 – Bonnie Watson-Coleman

NJEA leaders, President Sean M. Spiller, Vice President Steve Beatty, and Secretary-Treasurer Petal Robertson, released this statement:

“Our union is proud to support these candidates and support them for their re-election. They have demonstrated through their actions that they are defenders of public education and working families. They have supported educators over the past two difficult years as we worked to keep our schools safe and our students learning. Their commitment to fairness and justice for all is exactly what we need in Washington, DC right now and we are committed to working hard for their re-election so they can continue this important work next year. The endorsement of our 200,000-member union comes with our pledge of support on the campaign trail as they make their case to voters and promote a vision to move our state and nation toward a fairer future, fairer and fairer.
