NJ Computer Science PD Week

New Jersey Computer Science Week will include professional development offerings in all classrooms and highlight the need to prepare K-8 teachers to teach computer science and embrace the new standards starting in 2022. New Jersey public schools are required to implement the new IT. 8.1 and Design Thinking 8.2 Standards in September. This week will allow K-12 teachers to integrate the standards into any subject class. No computer knowledge or experience required.

Participants will attend one day in person and four days of virtual meetings on Zoom. Monday’s in-person event, held at the College of New Jersey (TCNJ), in Ewing, NJ, will allow K-12 teachers to come together for fellowship, collaboration and support.

Specific workshops for each group will be offered virtually from Tuesday to Friday. Workshops for K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12 teachers will provide specific lessons and ideas that can be implemented in the classroom .
